My Recruiting Experience

My recruitment process wasn’t perfect, but it provided valuable insights and shaped who I am today. As a 14-year-old freshman, I originally committed to a university without fully understanding what I wanted in a school. However, when I faced a potential career-ending injury during my sophomore year, I was forced to reflect and learn more about myself beyond athletics, as well as what type of environment and people I wanted to surround myself with—all qualities I sought in my next team and school. These lessons helped me navigate the transfer portal and find a school that aligned not only with my athletic goals but also with my academic and personal goals.

Being A Collegiate Athlete

My experience as a college athlete has been life-changing. There are so many amazing aspects of being a student-athlete, from the transferable skills you develop to being part of a culture and environment with other like-minded individuals. For me, the most rewarding part has been the lifelong friendships and the second family I’ve found with my team. You spend nearly every day together—whether at training, lifting, meals, or classes—your teammates are there through the highs and lows of those 4(+) years. The bonds and friendships you form are unbreakable, and I’m incredibly grateful to have built a home away from home with such incredible people.
